I have a VW Beetle 2000 1.8T model and it shows 018048 dtc, that is, internal control module error: eeprom error and Alldata says replace ECU. I am wondering what eeprom is culprit and how can i get dump to flash the eeprom? I tried EOBD 1260 but cannot find Beetle in expected place, any help pls? Flash memory is 29f400bb.

Hi,
Do you still have this ecu and is the problem still not solved ?
Because i think i can help you out.

If you still have the ecu, please open it up, and make a picture from top pcb and bottom. Then put it over here on DK and i'll guide you.

Greetings,

PvL

You tryed to write file in ecu,but writing was stopped after deleting the flash content (29F400) is this right?

If yes, open ECU, unsolder 29F400 an!

*1 you have paralel programmer:

flash 29F400 with paralel programmer, solder back finish

*2 you dont have paralell programmer:
Take some other ecu with same flash (29F400) take it out the ecu,and solder it in your ecu, dont care about what soft is on this Flash, important it has data....now your OBD Flasher will find ECU,and you can rewrite it.

A deleted Flash inside an ecu, will never been found by derial programming tool(OBD Flasher)

Good luck
