Diaries out, chaps. The revamped, reworked PlayStation Store makeover special launches on April 15th. Originally this date was confirmed only for Japan, but it seems that all stores across the world can expect their new look to arrive on the same day.

So what though - what's exciting about a remodelled PlayStation Store? Well, apart from an end to the absence of new content updates we've had to suffer for the past couple of weeks, the update is expected to come with Firmware v2.30 and - it is strongly rumoured - the launch of the PlayStation Home open beta.

Worst case scenario: if the Home rumour turns out to be false and there's nothing new/decent on PSN, then we can at least go and check out the Rockstar Social Club which also launches on the same day. So it should be worth getting up on Tuesday at any rate.

the update also brings hd audio to the ps3 allowing 7.1 surround sound :)
Sony has also confirmed that a content update to follow on April 17 will see the launch of the Metal Gear Solid Online Beta trial.
