TomTom 6 on Nokia E71

Hi, does anyone know how to get TomTom 6 to recognise the internal GPS on a Nokia E71? I have tried the BiNPDA solution but cannot get it to work.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I only found this because you asked for it so I haven't tested it.


Installation Notes :

1) Install 1.bt.sisx. Run it. It should say "Device added"
At this point you can also uninstall it - it is no longer needed.

2) Install 2.GPSd.jar.

Run TomTom. Choose Yes when it asks you to switch on bluetooth. Go to Change preferences, Show GPS status, Configure, Other Bluetooth GPS receiver, and select the
****** GPS.

* You need to change the preferences every time you start tomtom. It won't
remember that you were using the internal GPS*

* If you need to switch from internal, to an "external" receiver, you may need
to click on "tomtom receiver", and then "other receiver" to get the list of devices again.

Sorry about the delay in coming back to you but I have been away.

This is the same solution that I had tried before and it will not work on the E71. I have even reinstalled the firmware and tried it on a 'virgin' phone.

I am playing around with Copilot at the moment which does appear to work with the internal GPS but I am loathe to buy a copy because I already have TomTom and prefer it anyway.

Fingers crossed for this. I've found nothing yet that will run Tomtom on the E71.

I can get Tomtom to load up now but I still can't use internal GPS. I just get a message at the bottom of the screen saying, "Connecting to GPS device..."
It stays that way for as long as I leave it.

I have been trying to run TT6 on my Nokia E71 and have successfully installed the software. The icon appears in my applications, but when I try to open the application, it will not run. Any suggestions?

I found "Sygic McGuider 7.52" its brilliant and WORKS on the E71 using the internal GPS. Google it to find it.:driver:

Keen to try this. Updates the E71 with the latest firmware only a couple of weeks ago so maybe now??? Real downer that TT6 needs an external GPS, otherwise is does the job great.

I'm not sure I fully understand. I have a friend who helped me find a version of TTN6 and says it should work for E71, question is I live in Australia and I have a tomtom GPS (not software the actual gadget). Will that map work on tomtom for mobiles?

I have the same problem with TT on my E71 and decided to try Sygic. Belive me people, works great and have very good maps. Did use TT before,but now only Sygic. Give it a try.:D

you need a mobile version for N series should be able to find it, this normally works with E series I am not sure if i cn post it..

you then need to put all files within that folder in the root folder of your memory card, then add the map you would like to use in the root directory as well..


I am not sure what amount we can upload on DK server.

I have it working on all my n series including E series.
