yup mate coil packs are prone to give misfires
and also if its raining (which i dought) the centre of the cam housings get full of water too and cause misfire as water goes into plugs shorting them out

The coils are a weak point, as mentioned. What's the reason you got this car in? Is the misfire still present or is it somethiing out of the past'
p.s.: Only 26 degrees, but onn 2000m over sealevel, makes you feel good.

done all 3,coil packs ,plugs and also plug leads, check also if there is an air pipe under inlet manifold as they split and let in air.

only use genuine coil pack on these , also be careful as the coil packs can serge and blow ecu which is quite common as well.

What your ALL your customers you have fitted these Intermotors, all live with in 2 miles of your garage and don't do more than 10 miles a year?

Yeah (cough) got a second hand ecu for a fiesta (cough) if anybody wan'ts to buy it (cough) got caught out by them crap coils, once but not since (cough)
OFF TOPIC, but relevent
German Swedish & Polish offer 3 types of coil for the Gulfs etc, cheap nasty, you don't want that, a Beetroot or something and one branded AH or something

The coil packs are the main problem but there are other things to check too, check the leads as they burn out for fun when the coil packs fail.
Another point to check on the fiesta is the washer jets? Yes I know it sounds mad but its true.
Check to see if they have rubber seals fitted underneath them, if not buy the modified washer jets from the dealer (it is a known concern).
Reason is rain water gets underneath the washer jets, drips onto the airbox, runs around and underneath the airbox and fills the cam cover up causing the misfire.
Also check the coolant level and also make sure the core plugs in the top of the cylinder head look to be sealed and not leaking as I have seen the odd one leaking coolant which also causes the misfire and coil pack failure.

Same here Ford coils or OE as supplied by Andrew Page. ECU can be repaired ATP do them and if you replace the coil the min must be new plugs better to do leads too at the same time.

not much point bothering with anything other than changing the coil, but we change leads aswell as part of job cus we have found in the past high resistance in the leads has led to premeture failure of replacement coils so we no longer fit coil on its own in case it ends up costing us a few weeks later
