This problem is caused by a low voltage supply via USB, connect an external power supply.

I also can not get EWS Kline to work, even with 15v power supply. tried 3 box's.

Do you mean lift up pins and change quartz when trying to read with k line?

Cheers
J

For k-line reading only pin 23 must lift. By testpoints also 20.

Better change. 8mhz is a standard for baud rate and work faster.

I just try lifting leg 23 but still no joy, just says initilising device, and a green flash on programmer. and just stays like that!

With quartz, is it on the EWS board or xprog??

Cheers
J

I dont know if k-line readind is a valid option on your programmer. Use clasic testpoints for hc11ea9 . Just lift 20,23 and change quartz. Must work. Sorry but I use upa usb on this way.

how to change quartz?
Not realy necessary to change quartz . First try with original. If doesent work then change. If programmer hasnt option autobaud rate must change quartz.

D46J mask is for mcu HC711EA9. Select this one for reading. Same communication as D47J which is HC11EA9 but different Vdd pin.

Hi guys i had the same problem a few days ago. Make sure your using pinout diagram from x-progm revision e. This displayed at bottom left hand corner of ews 3 in immobiliser option. Study diagram carefully as the earth points are different and MOB pin is to. I was successful after this and no 15v power supply just usb.
