posting for a friend who is having trouble with the airbag light flashing on the dash of his peugeot 406 hdi,it just started the other day when he started the car,hes checked the manual ect to no avail,no info regarding airbags at all,any ideas as to how he can figuire out what could be causing it,ie software needed to diagnose this issue or where to check for faults

First thing would be to scan the airbag module for fault codes, the you (he)''ll see. Otherwise ......

Turn ignition off, then remove and refit airbag wiring connectors under the drivers seat and then turn ignition back on and see if light goes out., if no luck do the same to the passenger seat wiring.
