Hi guys

My car wont start as ECU is locked and bsi wont recognise my key.

How do I know what ecu software is installed in car if I have siemens 8085220 and BSI E02-oo9649627880

Nothing has been changed in the car all did was change the key fob transplanting my key and motherboard to it, but I remember first changed my key and not the motherboard but tried to see if it would program using programming sequence of pressing big button while turning key in ignition on.

Think that might have caused this problem?

So how do I recover from this?

use a professional tool like PPS2000 to diagnos the car, to know what is the problem exactly....

Hi thanks for your reply.

pp2000 says ecm or ecu is locked and bsi cant communicate not even with key, try to reprogram key and it does it 3 times and tells me must wait 15 minutes for bsi to reset.

How do I know which version ecu and bsi is?

Hi

Are you sure you have NOT dropped the Transponder Chip while you were transplanting ? Just make sure the Transponder Chip is in the Key.

And was the Car starting before with same chip ? if yes than try disconnecting the Battery for few min and reconnect it again and try to start.

Have a look in here how to do BSI Reboot.

Thanks for your assistance.

Everything was working before I changed the fob and placed my motherboard into the fob. The motherboard was put into the fob and nothing fell out that I am aware of. Have already disconnected the battery over night. Will try the BSI reboot in the morning as its night here.

The key doesnt even lock or unlock the doors by remote anymore. It used to before I connected pp2000. forgot to mention cant open close windows etc....

On pp2000 what bsi and ecu versions do I download for this car peugeot 206cc VF32DNFUR42857190?

Hi . Did you DEFINATELY put the old transponder chip in the new fob? Just looks like a bit of plastic and is clipped into the fob. I am not talking about the circuit board. Hold the old fob right by the ignition barrel and try to start, if it works then identify the transponder chip and move it to the new fob. Maybe you now also have secondary problems from using the software. Bilco

Just opened up a 2 button key fob, with the two halves seperated the transponder is in the part that contains the key, just about 5mm from where the fixing screw goes through. Just looks like a small rectangular bit of plastic clipped in at its top edge. The transponder must be within about 30mm of the ignition barrel to shut off the immobiliser.

Hi

When you say you can't open or close windows etc.... that means your BSI have lost its Configuration.

Can do a Global Test with PP2000 and see if its coming up with your Vin Number. or its coming up like qqqqqqqqqqq or ffffffffffffff. please confirm this first.

Can you also tell us what year is this car and is it Petrol or Diesel.

Ash

I changed the transponder just now from the old key fob to new one will give it another shot in a couple of hours.

Thanks for that it was something that I didnt know but helped me when you described the part for me. Much appreciated.

Ok after replacing the transponder from old key fob to new key fob there is no engine im*obolizer fault but cant open or lock doors and car wont start so I am guessing need to program from pp2000? Correct me if I am wrong.

When downloading new ecu or bsi which ones do I select from the list for my car? there are so many and dont want to pick the wrong one I have siemens-8085220 bsi-E02-009649627880?

If all the original parts are in the new fob and the immobiliser is going off then the car should start. The immobiliser chip just turns off the immobiliser when it is in the proximity of the sensor in the lock barrel. The buttons on the fob just lock the doors, they are two entirely different functions. If the car is 2002/3 I guess it is multiplexed, make sure the battery in the fob is ok and connected properly, you can try syncing the buttons as per the owner guide but nothing much else to do without involving the software. I cant understand how what you can have done would cause multiple problems, usualy if you do something that goes wrong a carefull retrace of the steps will fix it. Bilco.

I think I tried to sync the remote without changing the new transponder for the original. Could this have caused the problems? All I remember changing into the fob was the key, motherboard from old fob to new fob. Now I changed the new transponder for the old one.

I dont think trying to re-sync will have caused the problem, I've known of people spending hours trying to make an alien key work (usualy off ebay) without permanent damage.
Without considering the diagnostic software aspect I would say that the car should now start and the remote locking should work, after all there is now no electronic difference between the old fob and the new. Nothing more should be needed exept maybe re-syncing to align the rolling code however I'm a 'spanners' mechanic not a tech and there are some real experts on this forum so hopefuly someone can help you better than myself.
I hope my contribution was useful. Bilco.

Hello,

If you said in Vin Number you getting qqqqqqqq or bbbbbbbb than this car will NOT START at all.

So now what need to do is first log in to BSI system and configure the BSI by putting in your Vin number also telling what system you have like Electric Window, Electric Roof if you have, ABS/ESP, etc etc, than reprogram all your keys again.

Hope This Helps.

Ash

Ash you are right but I dont know which BSI to select for my car to allow me these options. Also I have ignition+ as showing off when it is on. I have no power to any windows or aircon as they all come under the BSI.

I also see an earth fault under ECU.
