hi all
could you please help me i have a acer laptop and kids have dropped it . (LITTLE S**TS)
the HDD has gone and once i replaced it with a spare it fired fine , but i need a copy of the recovery disks . can any one help or point me in the direction of some .

You could get a copy of the os that came with it, format and instal the windows os, using your key that came with it.
Then if missing drivers, visit acer's website and get them as you need.

what Acer model please?

There should be a recovery disk that came with your laptop. It should install the whole OS again with no problems.

I take it you do not have the original disks that came with the machine??

If it's a new one -thinking of the Aspire one series here- they don't necessarily come with recovery discs, just a recovery partition.
Acer obviously charge for the discs if you want them, mind...
