I had a few messages since joining regarding Port Forwarding.. so below find a helpful (maybe) aide memoire..

To 'port forward' you first need to log into your router.. most routers this can be done by opening your browser and typing in 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1

If this is sucsessful you should get a username and password prompt.. the UN & PW can normally be found on a sticker underneath the router...

Once logged in port forwarding can be found under the Advanced option..
Now i can only go by how to do it on my router which is a Netgear..

Select port forwarding over port triggering.. then you need to add a service.. On mine i chose AIM then under the IP address i entered the IP of my Dreambox which you should know or can find out when using the DCC..

Then i just chose what port (number) i wanted open which like most people is 12000

Save all then log out of router..

Simple :top:

Please feel free to add any info anyone as ive got a basic but working knowledge..!

right here we go

my router is tp link tl-wr841n

to start i type in my browser the ip of router

it goes to menu in the menu i select forwarding

it opens a sub menu

1 virtual server
2 port triggering
3 dmz
4 upnp

i select virtual server i then choose 12000 as my service port
protocol i keep all ticked
the status is enabled

i then have an option for common service port do i leave it or select one of the following from the sub menu

dns,http,ftp,gopher,nntp,pop3smtb,sock and telnet

i save without selecting any

where am i going wrong?

no what ip address have you put in the router settings..?
if you have put in 192.168.1.1 in the router settings this is wrong.. you need to put the ip address of your DB in the router settings as this is the equipment you want the router to open the port for..

i.e. my settings would look like this:

Service Port: 12000
IP Address: **********
Protocol: ALL
Status: Enabled

@thered I can see you are green on mine as well. I also found CCcam 2.0.10 troublesome and reverted back CCcam 2.0.9. I use the s/w below for monitoring my shares.

This is a good site to show you how to port forward on most routers. Just choose you make and model.
