Fiat km tool from ecutool

Got fiat km tool from ecutool, downloaded software from there site. Installed usb serial port converter, but when run program says "NO dongle found".


There is no dongle included or is the dongle part of the interface?


I know paul12345 has posted more software, that has dongle emulator but as anyone used that software with success?

I got the same fiat tool from ecutool but with dongle, you should recieve the dongle also, ask ecutool.

Theyve definately had a price drop m8, but you expect to get whats in the picture.


Ive sent them an email, so lets see what they say. But in my experience they usually dont reply.:beheaded:

I will give them 48hrs to reply, then probably open a paypal dispute. Ive bought that many things from them, im a dealer member and never had any issues like this.:giveup:

Just emailed a load of sellers on ebay to see if theres come with the dongle and asked if they can provide the dongles seperate.

i emailed a guy from ebay who had positive feedback for fiat km tool. And asked if his had a winliscence he said it didnt but the dongle was part of the interface.

Asked him to give me a link to software but he never replied it was probably ecutool, they never reply to emails also.

ive sent another email to ecutool saying software opens but doesnt communicate with car. told them i want the dongle version if they dont reply, i wont be buying anything from them again.

Im not holding my breathe for there reply. :ciao:

Just thought id let you guys know, i just googled fiat km tool, and guess what came up first this thread.

Hopefully it will make ecutool either refund us or exchange it to the one with interface and dongle that worked.




And stop other people buying a tool that doesnt work.

Email there support email and tell them, also start a paypal dispute telling them it dont work.

See if we can get them to send the dongle or refund the money and stop them selling the version without the dongle!!

Here is the software I received with dongle for Fiat KM tool...
It works only when dongle is attached and it is version FIAT KM 1.0...
Never tested it on Fiat yet... I might be able to test it today...

Thanks this is a lot better software than what we have got.

Although bad news for us, it still doesn't work, still comms error and dials drop.

Seems could be an interface issue??

I have Fiat KM tool that came with dongle and Fiat CAN v1.0.

I tried it with this software from tomuch Fiat CAN v1.4 and it starts up however I was not able to test it in the car yet...

As soon as I try it I will let you know...

Also I already asked somewhere on DK does this tool changes ECU or dashboard too?

Yes theres the same problem for me, but maybe the interfaces are different?? as tomuch said this worked on his interface.

Tried 'read' whilst the lead wasn't connected to the car, it comes up with comms error and then I tried putting the lead into the car and the dials drop, it seems to lockup the device when you get a comms error untill you remove the usb side powering down the interface.

Paul have you tried the software from tomuch, and setup the comports as per video and word document . I dont have a car to try myself m8.:giveup:

I also tried it but without connection to the car...
And it works...

I did setup com ports as required to com2 and adjusted latency... I guess it is MUST since the program itself requires it that way...

As soon as I test it on the car I will post results...

Yep, and setup com port the same, although the program deffo dont need you to change the com number as it dont start without a fdti device in so it detects the port just fine ( tried it anyway though)

Maybe a different story if you've got 2 fdti devices in your comp??

Yes I was going to ask you to remove the pics and make the solution to active members only, but the chinese sellers are still selling it working or not, also it will soon get back to them I'm sure.

Not seen much of the ford km - looks limited in its use.

Not sure how much good removing our post will do, as it only takes 1 person to inform them of the mod, but I've edited my post.

We can get the lastest winlicense and protect the exe but I think the one already available will probably still work although I've not tried it.

Also worth noting that the one with the dongle also shouldn't work at least not with puntos.

Never bothered to check although the caps obviously - + either side, so should of been obvious.

Also explains why its not on tomuch's interface as his dont use the led, which takes 12v from the obd so would need ground also.

Just tried on a 2001 punto 1.2 8valve, and read miles perfectly, and wrote miles perfectly twice, after tomuch and paul12345 modification.

If its any help, I once fixed chinese Fiatkm tool to work with original software ( with Stilo option ), I reprogramed PIC with my hex, reprogramed ft232 and removed one resistor,everything worked perfectly after that...Later I reprogramed one in to Oped EDC16 and worked OK also...they use same hardware only diference is in one resistor... Maybe this could help someone, don't trow away your non-working chinese fiat km's

@obdmaster I believe the keygen version works with the mod, might be worth pm'ing fix and this software minus keygen, may stop some sellers being able to rip it off if they haven't fixed it already.

In the early clones didn't work, we ended up finding out that the resistor needed removing to make it work.

I bought my dongle from sinosells last week. It was a little difficult to install the software, but it works at the end.
You can download a keygen and programs from sinosells webpage...

-Fiat Stilo MY2006: Connected, read, but write up only(from 55.332km->55.560km), down not :-( SUCKS!
-Fiat Stilo MY2002: Connected, read, but Didn't work...
-Grande Punto MY2008: It couldn't connected with the car

-Panda MY2005: Worked perfectly

In my experience, if the program read the km value perfectly, it can be write up and down.
If the program read the km value and write at the end another number(correct km:55.332, the program read: 553325), it won't write only up the mileage!
