I have a strange problem with BMW E46. There are only two lights on the instruments (when on ignition): Brake (!) and airbag. About the airbag ,i can't check it for now,but about the second (brake) control i have checked:
-Brake fluid and it's sensor
-Handbrake sensor
-Wiring from them to instrument cluster

There is no other lights after starting the engine.Does anyone have any idea where is the problem.Maybe because of the airbag ?

Just try a simple experiment:

Noticing the words this may or may not work.

Remove the headlight switch, grab hold of the wiring loom, NOT THE PLUG
close your eyes and yank like ~~~~.

If not check for blown or missing fuses
Have had thses where they chaff the can wires behind the dashpod.

when you start rolling on the road, does the cluster start to beep ?

Also, check if the handbrake switch or its wiring isn't touching the chassis (getting GND)
