Hi everyone,
i have a massive problem with my 2006 Peugeot 307 2.0 HDI 136bhp ..
first, when i bought the car, it wasn't starting, it wasn't even cranking, the starter motor wasn't turning..
after weeks of work on it, the problem was with the ABS module, yes thats right ABS!!
the car was damaged on the front passenger side, due to the crash, the ABS module was physically damaged and because this car is Full CAN so there was no communication between the BSI and ECU, this is because the wiring comes from BSI, via ABS to ECU, and because the ABS was damaged so the info wasn't going through to the ECU.
Anyway, its all fixed now, i have replaced the ABS pump and the car starts ok, BUT
the ABS/ESP fault light is on and when i scan the car with Peugeot Planet i get no communication between BSI and ABS
Can anyone help please? any ideas?
Thanks

check the power supply to the ABS controller is intact. The CAN signals will pass through without power but it must be connected.

Hi there first off the replacement unit was it new or used What is the fault code shown in PPS is it U1308 ?
Hi, the ABS unit is used, second hand, it came off another 307 diesel, it has the same number of pins ( 46 ).
in PPS:
on the BSI: i get: No Communication between BSI and ABS
on the engine ECU: No Communication between ABS and ECU
Vehicle speed data incorrect value received
on the ABS/ESP ECU: the ECU has not replied,
i cant communicate with ABS to read faults or see parameters or do a configuration...
So, there is no communication between the BSI and ABS but still the car starts
and without the ABS in place, the car does not even cranck and does not start, so the ABS in a way is doing its job which is linking the CAN signal from BSI all the way to ECU
Also, the engine management light is ON and the Airbag light is ON
on the Airbag scan, i get: No fault found and in the history: No previous crash data recorded.
and on the dash display, i also get: Depollution system faulty
So my instrument panel at the moment is like a christmas tree with all those lights!!
Please help
Any ideas would be much appreciated
Thanks

ok, maybe you are right.
i know for sure, i have another 307 2004 ( VAN-CAN ), and it also needed an ABS pump, i got one replacement which didn't have the exact same part numbers on it and it did work fine.
maybe on this 2006 model ( FULL CAN ) its not the case??
To be confirmed??
anyone can confirm this please?
Thanks

:stupido:The reason why the car starts now is that the ABS ECU acts as a gateway between the BSI and ECI so basically all you can assume from the fact that the car starts is that the gate side is working. Yes there is a difference between the CAN VAN and full CAN ABS ECU's and also difference between vehicle with and without ESP. Have you got the VIN of the car where the donor came from ?? and also your car and I can check to see if it can be used.

the replacement ABS module definitely has ESP as it has 46 pins, same as the original one, i know that cars without ESP dont have that many pins...
anyway, this is my VIN number VF33HRHRH84352533
i will try to get the VIN of the donor car but its very unlikely as it may have gone for scrap by now...
maybe, the donor car, wasn't Full CAN ???
thanks for your help
also, before i start the car, the mileage shows in the instrument panel, but when i start the engine, it only shows a line of dots in the space of the mileage..
thanks

Yeh no worries it does sound that there is an issue with the Network... the Can-van and full Can are different part numbers.

hi, thanks very much for the info and your help..
yes iy looks like there is a network issue, communication problem, maybe the reason is the ABS module ??

Hi mate, i am sure that the replacement ABS came from a VAN-CAN car and therefore it is not compatible and causing all these network issues...
i have found another one but i wanted to check if its fully compatible, i have the VIN of the donor car, can you check for me please if i give you the VIN's
Thanks
