Forte bio degreaser is the proper stuff for the job but is expensive, have heard you can use automatic washing powder, but havent tried it, have a look here http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=115756

Yeah second that it was somebody on here muttered something, sombody like estate, justy22, or beinam or none of the above

Seem to think it was WASHING MACHINE CLEANER?

vANISH, Jif Microliquid, where are you?

Would suggest a liquid rather than powerder to clog things up, or dissole it in a bucket dear elisa first

Calgon is a limescale remover so maybe its good for de-scaling blocked radiators & heater matrixes, probably find bio washing powder better for removing oil.

in that case work on the theory of removing the oil first

then remove the limescale.

is thinking more surface area for the oil not to attatch to.

but then again if it's descaled then wahed out who cares!

if was a M-H-M job anyway you can with hose pipe first, with and with out engine running then away.

just think it's lubricating the water pump for you.

i would not use petrol or brake cleaner on internal parts, however, dishwasher cleaner as me interested

Finish Quantum dishwasher detergent (http://www.finish.co.uk/dishwasher_enhancers/finish_dishwasher_cleaner.html)

never tested anything like that, but what would get attacked, not for aluminum comes to mind??
