I use USB interface for it.
Because the newer Cars (ea. my Mini R56)use CAN, so i bought a usb Interface from do-it-auto.eu.

I read in bimmerforums the following:

"
The KKL USB to serial cables are no safe bets to get INPA and DIS to work, if you do as I describe here you will get a working system:

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...9&postcount=44 (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19142349&postcount=44)

The reason is that the USB interface needs a driver to make a vitrual RS232 Com1 interface and very often this does not bring the quality that EDIABAS needs. "

What do you thing about it ??

I am specially interesting in E46 cars.

Hi,

i use RS232 for Ads/Obd Interface - BMW Models 1987-2006 and Usb Can/OBD Interface for BMW Models 2006-2010. Full coding, diagnostic and programing Bmw Cars!

If you want to use the cable for new cars then you need a K+DCAN INPA USB.

RS232 is only good if your working with a car earlier than 1998. Anything from 1998+ on INPA USB is the best IMO.

Reason why I do NOT use RS232 is because I use the software on my laptop.
