I have just had a rather interesting chat wih a guy who works in the cable industry.
He tells me that NAG3 isnt running anywhere yet as the company in question cannot supply everybody with the boxes to be able to decode.
The new cards which weve all been getting hold a 64 page eeprom programmed with finite frequency codes.

Our starview boxes will not pick up all the channels because they cant read the frequencies yet. those of you who have lost all channels need to check again as he tells me we still should get the odd one.
I still get disco turbo and disco but no other discovery channels, no movies and no sports. I have not lost them all and probably neither have you.

lets wait and see if this is a software fix is on its way (here's hoping)

P.S. when NAG3 does arive (if ever) ALL channels including frreview will dissapear in the blink of an eye

only problem there when on n3 you can do a factory reset and auto scan your provider and it will bring up every named channel from provider meaning the box finds the frequencies but cannot decrypt them,you might have a few channels left but if and when they are put on n3 platform they will go also and you will be left with a radio box.

i re scanned my sv 6 on friday and i have 80% working with out sever all movies all sports except muty liverpool fc and 1

OK, heres the rub.....if a human has written/devised a code for monitoring/securing these networks...then a human can write a code to "decode". How many times have I heard that a game is "uncrackable" in the PC industry only to find it released on Usenet/Giganews or whatever the next day.

In my experience....for what its worth, if it can be written/coded, then it can be unwritten and decoded. So PLEASE stop preaching about NAG3 as tho it were the end of the world (or in this case, end of free cable)....IT ISN'T!!!!

bit big for a door stop m8 depends where your from right now but i would suggest taking up money saving for your sky or virgin deal that you might be bartaring about soon.....

a lot of folk here swear by the dreambox but its all down to you at the end of the day have a look through the sat section loads of info there m8.......

Has N3 been rolled out in Cork area as I lost my channels last week but got back Setanta and kids channels at the weekend.Is it time to look at other boxes.
