BDM100 (dont work) Tip for repair

Hi guys.
I am opening this thread because today I needed to use my BDM programmer and it didnt work.
Allways the error "12v or communication error"
Well it was damaged and I am here to share with you the solution.
In the electronic board you will find 2 transistors, Q1 and Q2 at the front of the board.
Q1 was damaged, replaced it and the BDM started to work again without any problems.
The transistor has the reference J7Y.
Hope this can help someone who has the BDM stopped because of this.

Do you really believe you will get something back after return for waranty?

If you bought in china,this is everything else than sure...and if something is returned,it s the same not repaired,or new one with same error.

So carsolution is right to open inteface and search for problem:idea:

I have returned some items to China and got solution on same, Not all Chinese coys are cons. Never try www.autonumen.com (http://www.autonumen.com) or www.autosky.com (http://www.autosky.com) you will regret it.

Try the solution the solution I posted here.
Maybe yours have another problem but try it and see.
I think if the problem is in the transistor like mine and if you follow my explanation its very easy to solve but if you want I can take a photo from the PCB and make a circle in the transistor.
Let me know the result.

We are talking about so called bdm100 by chinese sellers. In fact this is a cmd bdm clone, I also have an original bdm 100 from evc which has never been cloned.

Do you have original WinOls to work with evc BDM100,i have also Original EVC BDM100,but am unable to connect via cracked OLS,so i ahve to use BDMtoGO,but the files are locked to my Tuner,and i cant open the files.

As i wont continue work with him,i have little troubles to edit maps,read out with my BDM,read,and write back,works well,but editing soft dont work?

Very good job friend, congratulations.
Sincerely the BDM100 clone from China is so cheap and with some adaptations it stays very stable and works very well.
Today I will post all the eprom and MCU soft so people here change them.

You must buy another BDM Programmer. You can find a good clone for 100-150?.

Like promissed here it goes the photo (sorry the quality) with the 2 transistors marked at red.
One them normally goes off when you have "12v or comunication error".

I manage to connect bdm 100 with cracked winols 1500 but only last week. Until now I use a older version of bdmtogo software which allow me to import in cracked ols. Last week a friend told me that if I will install last version of bdmtogo software and install the bdm drivers the winols will work with bdm 100 directly. And that is what I do and work 100%

Also inserted the update software to flash the BDM.

I have that same problem. I change this resistor q1 and q2.
I read eeprom maybe someone check?

Thanks for the useful tip. I had the "12v or communication error". Just to be sure I replaced all 3 transistors (BC547C) and the china clone BDM100 came alive again! :-).
Got 4 of he transistors for 50 euro-cents from local electronic parts store.

The dump for eeprom its ok,here its mi contribution,the mc68hc11e,with this 2 dumps u can downgrade back your bdm in the old version.

Hi i am waiting for the 3 transistors to arrive on thirsday so i can try my bdm100 clone for the very first time, i bought it especially for bmw motorbikes for doing keys by the bosch ecu but i didnt get a bosch adaptor , what to do ?

i use DIMSPORT software. when it try to click ON button i hear a relay click, after i get this error.
it should mention it is not connected to ECU, only USB. i tried powering by 12V adapter, still same error...

it's because not connected to any ECU or it shouldn't give that error?

I've bought chinese BDM100 in gray aluminium box. It hasn't worked yet properly. I've replaced all transistors - green led lights now. I've started to change 93C46 dump. Probably I've tried all dumps from DK forum. Only two of them "work" - Windows XP sees device but 555Pro gives error:

Interface communication error (E13)
MPC version error (E06): 0x00000000
Part number error (E05): 0x00000000
Power error or communicationerror (E14)

I attach these two dumps which "work"
Do you have any idea what to do?

I just received my BDM100 without software so I tried multiple drivers/applications and came up with this:



I can read/write alltogether (they call it single file) however I would like to read/write to the individual ROM's but the buttons are disabled :uncomfortableness:

Reviving an old post but many still buy and try to use these BDM 100 labelled units , there is an inherent fault as the voltage drop is too great to properly power up the ECU through the unit.
best fix is to remove pin1 from adaptor if soldering to board on ECM ( pin 1 on board is 12v supply )
power is to be applied to ECM through pin 5 and pin 18 ( 12v power and ign 12v ) and -ve through pin 1 on the ECU itself ( in the larger ECU connector ) - use a good 12.50 v power supply or even car battery to power the ECM .

using this method recognition rate and reading has been 100% , even on ECU's that have previously had problems.

+1 that Mikky058 : I had the same issue with a chinese BDM 100 programmer. My solution is to plug an 12,5v external power to the ECU's pin 1 pin 5 and pin 18. all worked fine!!
