If I buy original Starscan will I need to have a subscription to do ECU programming like you do on the TECH II without a TIS dongle?

Also what about updates, is it easy/cheap to do get free or must I buy original?

Thanks,
Hooman

well as far as i know its yes and no - i have fixed several StarScan units so i got to mess with them a bit - if you mean to make some ecu's sw update then the internal memory holds the ones already made until the memory is full. then the system asks you to clear some memory to continue - this means that if you can have the seller clear all memory and then upload all the specific you need, you will be up to date for what you need to this point in time when he made the update.
also - if he "forgets" the username and password you will be able to do it always by yourself online.
