I have a few questions regarding backing up wii games using the Wii itself and using a computer.

My wii is v4.2u. I just soft-moded it. It appears that my wii does not read DVD-R nor DVD movie. So I might have to back it up using my PC.

1) Do I need a specific DVD reader to read Wii game? I tried to load it on my SAMSUNG DVD burner but it won't read it.

2) For the external drive to back up my wii games, should I format it to FAT32 or WBFS? If WBFS, how will my PC read the drive?

3) Do I use Img Burn to back up the wii game to my PC (external drive)?

Any comments or help are greatly appreciated.

for formatting your external drive read this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f16/info-usb-loader-formats-140329/ once you have it formatted you can use one of your usb loaders on your wii to rip the game to your external drive .

4 - Take out the original disk and put in an empty one and burn the game files with an empty disk.
Once the process is finished, then you've successfully performed all the 4 steps that are needed to copy, backup and burn game.
