Try removing the battery and then back after some minutes without the battery charger.

Assuming the machine starts....
Hit the F8 key (keep hitting it)
You (hopefully) will see an options screen after a few momments.
Select VGA mode from the list and reinstall the graphics drivers.
Hope that helps.

Does it boot as far as the Bois post screen?
If it fails to even get to the Bios you will need to check the memory, HDD connectors, the Bios battery. If you can reset the bios at the same time it will help.
It's also possible the processor has died. Has it ever overheated? Or the fans speed up alot?

I have tried something like you, I took out the graphiccard and cleaned the small contact surfaces and then i run again. Maybe its dust.

Make sure there is nothing connected to USB drive such as usb memory stick or external hard drive. Sometimes the first boot device is setup to usb and that will cause the black screen and blinking cursor in the left upper corner.

If it doesn't POST, no display on external monitor, your board is screwed.

If you are unable to see the post screen, you may have to update bios to solve the problem. See the link below:

Hi faulks6164 Did you check the Bios?? Sometimes the problem is because the Bios doesnt have assigned the hard drive to start all the computer.
So try this. Turn on ur laptop and at the same time press the F2 buttom. If you get access to the Bios, check that your hard drive is set up as primary IDE, if dont you have to do it, because maybe your laptop read ur cd-rom first or a usb port.
I hope this information will be useful for you
