x431 smart box problem

hi all , can someone please tell me what IC is this inside the smartbox x431 , here is a pic

the two SMD ic U16 and U19

hi all , i am getting the 74HC02A can that replace 74HC02D ?

pull this ic from an ABS module mitsubishi 4g15 DOHC .

note .. the problem with the x431 with this bad part is that it cannot communicate with the car sometimes .


hope this could help some one , so will change the ic soon , i am waiting for some one to say the ic is the same .

They seem to be the same
Quad 2-Input NOR Gate

Only is the D from Philips
and the A from ON Semiconductors

How did you identify that 7402 and 7313 need replacement?

"D" are the double buffed TTL's from PHILIPS. In very fast applications like Jtag i've had problems with these types from philips. I guess that it wont be a problem with KWP2000.

I got a smart box that had a problem of at 1st very slow communicating then ceased communicating completely with the car.
I replaced the smartbox & all was good.
With the bad smartbox still around I changed the 74HC02D & tried. It did not fixed the problem. Matter of fact, when
scanner completed downloading & 'OK' pressed, it went
into 'please wait, processing' forever.

is it necessary to change both? i tried cxhanging one but no luck the other one is small and my experience with hot gun and solder is very very low.. let me know. also if anyone else got success with this please let me know. exact error im getting is ?rror in communication with vehicle ecu"
