audi rb4 instrument cluster

good day to all. i have a problem with a audi a4 2005 instrument cluster. the rpm and speedo does not work, the buzzer/gong does not work and the elimination in cluster does not function. funny enough the vehicle starts, meaning that there is nothing wrong with the immo system. i have removed the 24c08 eeprom from cluster, read the dump. i suspect that the dump could be corrupted. if someone could please have a look for me and try to repair if corrupted. exe123 your help will be appreciated. thank younto all.

Just a thought, similar thing happened when eeprom was turned 180 deg and then soldered to pcb/dash..

Then another thought, you probably have damaged dash :)

I Think it could be a speed sensor malfunction,check signal wire to dash plug, this should resolve speed and rev counter and illumination can be a seperate issue.

Just a thought also this car is usually done by solder points so did you check to see if someone has tampered if so chip could be partially corrupt so dump will be required. See how you get on

Try the attached dump. Could be possible that you have to recode the dash. Let me know if it helps.

wow man!!!!!!!!! you are fu...n good!!! you are a genius. a real EINSTEIN in the making. i have loaded the file that you have sent me onto 24c08. resolder eeprom back to pcb. plugged the cluster back into vehicle every single thing that was wrong on the cluster is working hundred percent. i did not even had to do any coding whatsoever. please tell me how did you do it. a billion thanks to you my dear friend.( the only thing that i must do is the actual cluster coding, the left front passenger door shows open when i open the actual drivers door. the automatic gear display is also not showing on the screen to indicate what gear the vehicle is in. im sure that is just the cluster coding. the main problems are sorted out) will give final feedback after cluster softcoding is correctly coded. thank you.

done the soft coding. gears are showing on centre screen. possible drivers door control unit faulty, reason why left side shows on screen when drivers door are open. remote are also refusing to adapt to convience control module. nevertheless, customer are very happy about cluster functioning now, so am i. thanks again for support. cheers.

not possible via dump only. you need to do that via obd. NO FREE TOOLS AVAILABLE :)

There are synchronization with a procesor (memory as well), so even you'll get dash working, you will not get engine starting, unless immo off.

sorry to say. i repaired more then 15 rb4 dashs killed by dashcan or erased dump. all of them are perfectly working again and learned to ecu. no immo off :)

I know this is possible to do with arbitus tool (vag k+can orig), but not for every human is possible to afford it.

I dont have k+can. for rb4/rb8 you can buy better tools.

VAGdashCan can work with RB4/RB8, no problem. Also, great is clone function which can clone one dash to another very easily.

dashcan kills it while reading. happens also with original interface and latest sw.

I can read and write the 24c08 with simple k-line by OBD, there are no problem, the question how to make it working with alien dump.
