View Full Version : PUNTO 2000 MYSTERY CHIP READING

Hi Friends
I want to change mileage on Punto 2000 but the problem is the Tacho software is telling me before I take the reading check your possessor type before connecting the three possessor types are 68HC, XC44, XC52 the processor on my clock is XC44 the Tacho Uni V08 on screen I can see when I chose Fiat 2000 are V1, V2, V3, CAN, 2001 V1, 2001 V2, 2001 V3, 2002 (NEC 020), 2002 (NEC 040), 2003 (NEC), Punto 95080, how do I come to chose chip XC44 I will appreciate any help and advice and thank you for your time.

There are different layouts for the puncto 2000 but the 3 points in the upper left corner are the same onboard. Just connect the 3 points and power, read version 1,2 or 3 untill you read the right value and program with a working 908 cable (most chinese 908 cables are faulty).

I have used cable P908 number 9 on the tacho cable tried all version V1, V2, V3 no joy keep telling me working but nothing happening, how long should I really should have left it working on for? Any other method I will be very grateful thanks again.:banghead:

Reading should be fast writing slow, your 908 is faulty, check if the black cable is connected to pin 25 (open connector!).
If not solder black wire to pin 25 and try again.

there are three versions of punto clusters and there are different soldering points i dont remember vich are they but i had same problem once and there vas one vire thath had to be canged posision

I mean pin 25 from the 908 cable connector, open the connector housing you will see.

Why not just do it Diagnostic from the back of the clock with Punto 908 diag program using the Multi-Can cable and Can dongle ?
