Never heard of ecu engaging 2 gears at the same time but i have seen AT gearbox engaging in 2 gears at the same time because of bad gear selection Controll valves not holding pressure.BTW if you even had problem with the ecu firmware it will go in limp mode and not engage at all

I ran across a 2000 Lexus and it had transmission troubles. It was caused by bad ecu. Replaced ecu with junk yard one re-flashed to learn new key and all worked well. You should run diagnostics on it before replacing ecu.

If you replace ecu.

Jump obd pins 4 and 13 for about 30 minutes to resynchronize ecu with car.
Make sure you have a good charged on battery

Hi mates! I saw this post and I have a problem with my Rav4 perharps you can help me. My ecu reference is 89611-42683. I change it by other one change the immo e2prom but it has a problem in automatic gears between 3er and 4th gear. Can there be any type of adjustment for the automatic gears with the diagnostic machine?
Thanks in advance ;)

To solve the problem, it is necessary to dissipate cold rations and drivers controlling the gearbox.
Reprogramming eeprom 95080 (clear gearbox data) for training gearbox

Hi mate! I change drivers controlling inside ecu in both ecus but the symptom is the same. Perharps I will make virgin ecu and try to adjust again. What do you think about that?
Thanks in advance ;)

Do not change the driver - just resoldering them and resoldering power resistors.
make virgin ecu ( do not forget that there are keys in it) and test drive. Regards
