I have done that module "on the bench" with carprog.
It's same as 01up civics with TMS.
Instead using A15 cable, make it like in the car. Use OBD2 cable, and put power between the unit and carprog.

I'm not sure about xprog... don't have one yet. but if it can do TMS, than yes.
I never open those units, so i don't know what chip is in there.
Also never see any dump from it. Carprog fixing it by itself.
You can buy one here:http://www.codecard.lt (http://www.codecard.lt/)

I believe UPA can do it. Of course with TMS adapter.. Which mean open the box, unsolder the MCU, put in the reader... read the dump, fix it (if u'r lucky - to find someone who can do it),solder that thing back and play.
I have an UPA with all the stuff, but for that, i always using CP (carprog). With CP u can just connect three wires to the pins (without opening the unit) and program. All done.
On the other hand CP can't do NEC... That is why we need more than one programmer!!!

BTW: Forgot to mention about OBD2 cable: It's A17
Best regards

The software you are looking for is in the Airbag section under Honda you will see Diag. Thats the TMS option.

Yiu will need D1 connector and Honda A17 cable. I have had 2 original Carprogs and only 1 worked with these, I've tried 5 clones and only 1 of those worked on these as well. Now none of the Carprogs I have work for these so I bought a $25 standalone OBD tool on ebay just for these early Hondas with TMS. Just need to plug tool into OBD port and switch ignition on for 10 seconds and crash is cleared

i have 2 of those stand-alone tms320 resetter sand both of them can’t clear tms320, tried on about 10 tms320 modules for past 5 years.. maybe both of them are defective.

and even carprog original so little chance with these tms320 ? what a strange mcu this tms320 is.
