Ok, I am so noob!

Here is my story I have both original file and tuned file for my car, also have Optican Master device.

I made a copy of the tuned file to rewrite so saved it as tuned2 file. After some minor changes, I try to upload that tuned2 file but the Optican gives me an error. With original and tuned file are fine with no errors (they write successfully but no the tuned2 file). What else I am missing?

Thank you,

Slave/Master? Protection? Checksum?

It is Optican Master Flasher II.

not sure about protection and/or checksum.

the original file is a .bin
tuned file is a .tuned
tuned2 file is a .mod

You need to make sure that your file isn't cypted. Are all maps OK when you open it in some program?

Yes, after using winols unlock file 1.1 (that I downloaded it from this forum) for the .tuned file that was not able to open in winols.

I can open .bin and .mod in winols but not the .tuned

You didnt specify any brand of car or ecu.

So if your ecu is a EDC16 or EDC16+ you must absolutely NOT calculate checksum,in this ecu is calculatet in writing by Optican. If you calculate chksm with ols,you will have error.

If your ecu is not edc16/16+ you need calculate chksm with ols,be sure you have the chksm in ols...

What does winols tell about checksum when you load original file?

Checksum waiting? Ready? No checksum?

On original file, it says No CS I guess it means "No checksum"

You got it....NO CS is no checksum...so you need calculate CS with some other software, with no cd,your engine will never start.

I dont know if this ecu is includet in ecm2001,give a try open the file in ecm2001 6.2

copy Maps from winols into ecm if chksm is recognised your car will start.

If not,i have swiftec but checksum are quite expensive...
