hi guys if i open someone`s dump for vdo cdr500 and write it to my chip can i then use the code they have been given??? i`m not sure now if i have wiped my chip:( thanks

sorry car still very new to this, prob i find is if i download someone dump i extract to a bin file and its 2K in size i write to chip all ok. i then read chip and save as a bin file and its still 2K in size then i compress to a rar fir and its 91k yet original is 930k not sure where i am going wrong????

If i understand you correct, then it doesn't matter what size the archive is. But the bin file must be the same! It's just archiving problems, you probably use different archiver or something, you can ignore that...

If you download another dump with know code, and write chip OK, ALL WILL BE OK.

Just enter code ... that's all !

Thank you Car i will try in morning and let you know how i get on, only thing realy is i need dump for my exact radio siemens vdo cdr500 and can seem to find one, i have seen a opel cdr500 could i use this??? thanks

hi all, has anyone got a step by step guide on reading / writing chip on cdr500. i wrote someone elses dump onto my radio chip all went ok then used the code they were given for their dump but it didnt work. i am using elvis multi programmer and it seems to write and read chip ok. what prog can i use to compare dump i download and write to my chip and what i read off the chip to make sure its written to chip ok. cheers
also i only have 4 attempts left so is there a way i can reset back to 10 attempts thanks

thanks Car, i have been messing with the right chip, however i have been reading it attached to the main pcb, do you all think i should remove it? my mate has dropped in to me a new 24c16 chip but it is physically bigger that the one thats in the radio, is this normal???? cheers

You should smd chip, no big ...
should be read on the plate.

How do you connect wires to the 24C16 on board ?
Radio power 12v yes or not ?

Please draw the picture that you connect wires ??

getting to end of my tether with my radio, i downloaded someone elses dump wrote it to the radio, then tried the code they were given (which they said worked) but wouldn`t work, i have attached the dump i read off my chip couls someone have a look at it to see if it is "good" thanks for all help so far
