How to USB1.0 to USB2.0

Hi Guys

i have a laptop running xp but the usb ports are v 1.0 what options are there to change these to USB 2.0 other than adaptors can anything be changed/altered inside

i do not think you can change usb 1 to 2 especially on a laptop in a tower that runs only usb 1 you at could at least fit a pci card with usb2 but in a laptop you do not have that option.

Does the laptop have a PCMCIA or PC card slot?

you need a pcmania card slot and y have to buy a pcmania card with usb 2.0

i have installed pcmcia usb2.0+firewire card in my compaq evo n600c - speed increasing is impressive... now i'm thinking about bying smaller card, without external parts - which i can't broke :)

my adapter also have external power jack, but i guess it's only needed for external hdd's, etc. cardreaders and flash-drives works fine without external power
