sorry , i posted this in the cable section to start with, wooops, lol, my mistake !
__________________________________________________ _____________

Ok, I am trying to find out what the true level of HD is that the dream 800HD outputs, those facts n figures dont appear in any of the documentation i have found on the internet, its a bit misleading selling the things and they dont even tell the people what to expect, You know like 720p, or 1080i or 1080p etc.

So I call on all you guys to please let us know what it actually is please ?

I would also Be Very Very interested to know if any you have tried it on the TV "" PANASONIC VIERA TXP50G10
50 inch Plasma TV Full 1080p HD Ready ""

Please feel free to post in the thread about your overall feelings of the quailty of the HD picture quality from the dreambox 800HD, how clear HD is or how soft or out of focus you find the HD if at all ??

Thanks a lot guys :barscarf:

good mate, is that a full 1080p tv ?

reason why i am worried about the 800HD a bit is cause i have an old dreambox 500c that works perfect on my rubbish old 42inch Sd plasma, but soon as I plugged the dream 500c into the 50" panny the picture quality from the 500c was rediculously poor, sometimes so bad it was sore to watch, lol, no joke ! very very soft picture it gave, could possibly even say it looked slightly out of focus, but then again if i plugged it back into the old plasma the pictures quality of the 500c was crystal clear, strange shit i know.

I understand obviously the 800HD is HD and the 500 is SD, i know that, but its just because of that bad experience with the 500 on the panny that it kind of made me think that maybe all dreamboxs will be like that with this telly, hmmm, hope not, lol

panasonic simply told me that the tv doesnt like old technowledgy very much and thats the only reason why they can think the old dreambox 500c is so shit on it, which is fair comment i guess, becuase all the other "new" stuff i have plugged into it show razor sharp images in HD.

Still doesnt answer my worries though of how a dreambox 800HD would be on it, lol. (its a golden oldie of a box too, hope it doesnt share anything in relation to the electronics with the 500)

anyway, keep the posts coming in guys, appreciated.

dm800 allows 720p and 1080i output

mate, not that i dont trust you, but while we are on the subject, how do you know that the 800HD outputs 720p and 1080i options ?

Does it actually tell you on the on screen display menu for the box ?

what tv you got mate ?

i see you are a newbie and could be simply just trying to up your post limit so that you get access to downloads etc, so i hope your not just posting any shit in here to gain posts ? are you ?

any chance you could take a photo of your tv with the dream800hd connected and the menu on screen showing 1080i ??

cheers mate, and my apologise if your genuine.

try a genuine DM8000, the picture quality will be the best.. Only downside is the box costs over ?800

for some reason i have found HD from some foreign tv broadcasts to be much more detailed than sky uk hd

Btw , Press info on your tv remote and it will tell you what signal it is receiving 720 1080 etc
