View Full Version : BDM100(CLONE)-help please

can anyone help me,ive got a problem communicating with the ecu,im using cmd 1255.there is a tab on the right (obd).i have selected the car(vw golf 2005 2.0 tdi 140bhp).i understand this is a edc16 can....so ive bought the bdm....when i press the identify button,i get a error message-unplug cable or no power supply....i get this message with the ribbon cable pluged in or not......is the cmd software im using for a obd cable,or can this be used with the bdm100 ribbon....is there any other software i can use to try and make the bdm communicate ......any information would be grately appreciated

Why you select obd if you are doing bdm ?

Obd is for 16 pin cable not bdm, unless i miss something ?

yes i no what you are saying...but....when i installed the software that is all i could use...i could not choose bdm or obd....

then it is not installed correctly sir


Forget to mention , there is software on here to flash you bdm, i would try that and also the 1255 soft on this forum, Just a thought .

do you have the adapter 12 volts

thanks for the replys,and ive had a search,found a good thread on flasging the bdm.but the upload link was dead.and couldnt find another link with good instructions....and as for the 12volts....the bdm has a 12v power supply adaptor....but there is no 12volt adaptor for the ecu,if thats what you mean....

You might have burned the BDM port of your ECU.

Check the GND pad of the ECU to see if it matches the ones of your BDM. Use a multimeter.

If clone you have the red stripe to the wrong side of pin one, the stripe should be on opposite side.
