can you guys still get solder with lead over there in the UK? I heard they are banning leaded solder here in the US.

no problems getting lead solder here
in fact its all i use with 2% silver
ime amazed it aint available in the states ?
i use wharton solder and spray flux or gel

I can?t buy new solder in the states with lead. When ever I see old solder with lead at the swap meets, I buy it.

if its possible try buying warton solder good stuff low melting point and clean too

but i guess some other guys will have more suggestions
oops put an extra h in wartons maybe thats why you couldnt find it mate sorry

stuff ime using just now is 0.4 but have ordered 0.75
good stuff ..youl have to set up an account
but lots of kit there
flux and so on all reasonable price and good quality
