Hi I tried looking at older threads on this topic but I was unable to get an answer. I was trying to get my db500 setup for a server and when i thought I was done I restarted my box from DCC when I looked if everything was working I got a fatal error about Ezap_Main skin unable to run or something. Now it wont let me do anything from the remote. I try flashing it through flashwizard but the root:dreambox combo has been changed to I have no idea. I'm trying to flash it with Dreamup. I put in the serial cable and it tell me to turn on my dreambox so i do but the message stays the same, is this because I have the wrong type of cable?

What can I do to fix it with what I have?

Update: I can't get access to the box no matter what I do because the password and/or username have been changed from user:pass. I have backup files ready to be put on but I just need to access the files one way or another. What are my options? Thanks.

Update 2: I'm trying to flash the box with Dream up but the message wont change from connection prepared switch on dreambox. Is the reason that I have a regular serial not a null modem? Can I do it via ethernet because I'm trying but I get the same message. So where could my problem lie? Thanks again.

Update 3: I went out and bought a dull modem cable. Dreamup worked so I flashed the thing and got it working. Thanks for all the help.......
