maybe is firmware from 5.0 inside xprog and you using 4.5 software,
so try 5.0 soft

M8 I got a clone xprog m and it just reads anything even things my upa cant so hate to put it this way but it has to be user error pls check again that all contacts are good and if you do it right IT WILL READ.

FYI the clone xprog m is the best kit I have bought in a long time it is just so dependable I have total confidence in the unit

Did you set the right frequency in options? If you read it on board , did you try disconecting rx,tx, and reset pin from board?

M8 rip the mcu off the board and put it in the Hc11 adapter provided with your kit if you haven't lifted a pin yet the possibility of you breaking the pin off is high on that mcu......but this is my opinion I just do this for a hobby lets see what the professionals say

Hi
when you read with xprog ( or upa ) you must lift
some MCU pins otherwise dont work
watch in picture connection manual : on some pins
there is mention: " Optional-must be hi "
try this and must work fine
nice day

Just lift "reset" pin and check what is going to happen. That's the most common of my problems with xprog-M clone. Apart from that issue with writing hc05x16/x32.

I desolder the Pin. Then I push a thin stripe paper or plastic under the Pin.

There are plenty of things that can affect the controller not to read this chip.It is not related to the clones, but also to fact that the chip is connected in a electronic circle.Measure with voltmeter and see if you have sometime drop-voltage or attenuation on pins, that are necessary for reading and writing.Try with advice they said and colleagues,so that we hear.Ha, ha, I have enough equipment from Mr.Wang and all work OK but maybe for the first time there.Regards.

Surely anyone who wants to read in circuit using whatever interface should really have at least a cheap scope/handheld scope. ebollox does have some cheap 2nd hand stuff. If anything dont read you really need to see whats going on with the data/levels on each pin. You can scope a chip that reads ok to get a feel for what you should be seeing.
