Hi, I've just had a new battery put in my Rover, and the radio (R660) doesn't work, even when I input the code '6382'. It must be wrong, but it is the one given to correspond with the serial number: RG349FY1185896

Thanks ahead,

Mandy

Sorry Arik, I don't understand your reply. Is it aimed at me?

Yes, reply is for you.... What's meant is that radio code
is not recoverable by serial number. You would need to
read the data stored on the radio's security chip, that's
referred to as a dump. This would be possible if you
have the necessary equipment to do this...

Otherwise, your option is either contacting mean dealer,
or usually a cheaper option, using the services of a local
radio decoder. Who should be able to recover the code
while you wait.

Should have read your original post more better. Have you
confirmed that the serial number, is that of the radio actually
installed in your car?

(by removing radio from dash, and noting numbers stamped on
metal casing)

It is not un-common for radios to have been changed in cars.

let me know, and will see if I can advise you better.
