genuine validation ?

When i try and play a youtube vid i get
genuine dreambox validation fail ??

any idea how i can get rid of it....its like
a windows validation fail but at least i
new how to get around that.

I do not know if there is a fix for it (other than switching your Image to another one ) But Dream-Multimedia implemented a Validation Key to all new original Dreamboxs for a reason, and its to knock out Application & Drivers & Down-loadable content on clone receivers.

All Application, Drivers etc will have to pass Validation of the receiver eventually making life a little harder for clone ones.

For your issue Change your Image to another and you will be back up and running

With a clone, if you want to have always last softwares and programs, you'll always struggle with securities because they are evolving, maybe less quickly than pirates but still.

So unless, you want to config your box the way you want and never update it again (or with headaches), I would suggest you spare money to buy an original.

With all those babies offer, it's the least you can do for the developpers. in other terms buying an original is you contribution to assure we still have dreamboxes in our world.

Unless chineses start to develop such products (they won't sell it as the same price as they sale DB clones of course and... you will find no clones of chineses products!), but for now, I don't know better than german to be efficient in that kind of things.
If China want to win the market, they would need to launch a real competitor to dreambox, and not just sell clones.
