Control from pc

Can the dreambox 500c be controlled from a pc, so that you can use vlc player to watch channels on the pc like the dreambox 500s

Yes you can with the web interface. Just type in your dreambox ip address into your browser.

just type in

username:root
password: dreambox

and remember to install the active x plugin for vlc, this can be done by checking the appropriate boxes when installing the latest vlc.

hey peeps,
i installed vlc with the activex plug in,
but when i go to webtvx,
it just shows the vlc triangle logo,
when i put my mouse over it,
it says click to activate,
after i click it,
it just doesn't do anything

any ideas peeps?
