Hi, last night i received a Toyota Wish for mileage correction. I have a bit of experience with toyotas now so i thot it wud b an easy job doin it. When i opened the Dash, i did not see any oscillator to short since removing the eeprom was difficult. I called a friend of mine and asked him where i can find the oscillator in the dash. He said all i needed was to remove the ground wire from the eeprom clip. I followed him and it worked. So my question is how would i know which wires on the clip correspond to which terminal on the eeprom. Thanx. Please if possible explain to me which contacts on the 93c46 and 56 eeprom chip have the negative and positive terminals. Cheers. Just being safe then sorry

Go on to www.alldatasheet.com (http://www.alldatasheet.com) and consult pinout doc for all chips you want.

You should get yourself and old radio/tv or pc board and practice removing the eeprom. Its always better to remove it from the board and causes less problams.

There are some dashboards in toyotas where it is almost impossible to remove the eeproms without damaging the board or the needles. I cant reach the underside of the board to desolder the eeprom so attaching the clip is the only solution
