hi all
i would like to do the following partitons, can someone advice if
a, it is possible..
b, is it advisable or not??

here goes,
i have 2 500GB hard discs, one with 7 and 1 with XP at the moment i am able to choose which drive i boot from by F12 on boot up. (bios controlled) and all ok and works well..
now on my XP drive i wish to create
3 Primary partitions 100GB - 100GB - 300GB.
(primary means i can make them bootable with OS.? correct?)

inside 1 primary i need 4 logical partitions ( for a particular application).

when my XP drive Boots in want to be able to select one of 3 primarys to carry on booting from. can i ??
All primary will have the same OS installed on them (XP).

Also is it posible to only make the partition i am working in show up under "my computor" otherwise i will have many disk drives showing... (just for house keeping-tidyness)

If ok to do this, which boot manager / partion soft is best to do this with....

if any further pc. spec is required please ask..

Many thanks
Julez

to the riddler

sorry for my english.

first of all

inside your primary number 1 you can't have 1 or more logical partitions because it need to be edited in a "extended partition" (in the extended you have the logical partitions/units).

so, if you use "paragon Partition manager 9.0" (is possible to post rapids/ links? rule:
Do not post warez, keygens or serials or links to any warez sites
but is rapid considered a warez site? and in a private message?), this can be a solution:

see attachment (simulation made with a virtual machine, looks a tough work!)

the first (C: ) is the original primary xp,
than in an extended you have 4 logical disks (E: F: G: H: )
and than 2 others primary partitions (I: J: ) are only the first xp (c: ) copied 2 times, both bootable.
but you can also install it as a fresh installation.
that program can copy the partitions and it has also a boot manager... but is slow (I advised you!) above all if you start it from the bootable CD rom or when you manage your primary partition that you are using and for that reason it need to restart your machine.

finally that app can also hide partitions.

the best is to try that work which you have in your mind in a virtual machine to do some pratice without messing your computer and understand if that app is good for you.

hope to be helpful.

add: just found this one, looks newer!

however I han't tryed this yet.
