Only Sql server 2008 Standard/Developpers are available for Windows 7
For Sql server 2008 R2 it is the same way

What is the version you want to install?
There are some problems between Windows7 and earlier the "SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3." Thus consider the installation of SQL with this service pack, or install the 2008.
