Have a strange thing happen today, parked ML, 20mins came back car dead, battery gone dry, went gone new battery. started motor miss firing.

Stop it , fire back up this miss firing, drove had to stop a few times. putt diagnose on miss fire bank 1,3,6 cleared faults. thought mas senor, spay it drove again. thought oil was low. put oil in drove ok, i have only put in crank senor in 8 mths ago,

is there a way of rebooting brain, running ok now, but think it should pull stronger.

Any ideas.

Plus on the dash fuel guage not working as it should.

is this the cdi model m8? was it charging ok to start with / did battery boil dry? has it stopped misfiring now? i've seen ecus damaged when battery voltage reaches critical level with engine running, then when engine stopped the ecu cannot switch to sleep mode so it can't store info up to that point / loses data. on the off chance i'd start by checking the earth connections & measure charging voltage at alternator, then at battery & compare

No its a Petrol 3.2, half of the battery was boil out, only been in there 13mths. its running ok now, but will give it a good service, is there anyway of updating ecu, being its 10yrs old or resetting ecu.
