V30 vito CDI - no data

Hi everyone,
I've plugged in the V30 to a 112CDI and although it detects all the modules it does not read any live data. The screen comes up with all the relevant fields, but instead of the real time values it shows either '0' or '---'. The scanner worked fine on anything that I plugged it in so far. Did anyone have this sort of issue with V30 on any car?

Great help brainiac, a bit too obvious, isn't it? I already have contacted my supplier. I'm trying to establish whether this is something common on a merc, or V30 or perhaps it's an isolated case. Thanks for help.
