Well from what I remember phillips make both the benq and liteon drives.
But you will need the key off the old drive, to put into the new drive, or it simply wont work. Also if your going to LT you cannot spoof the drive, so will need the same model as was already in the console.

right lol im pretty new to this stuff basicly what it is my drive is giving the open tray error grrrrrrr so what i want to do is change the dvd drive for a benq drive as thats the only drive i no how to flash the current drive is a philips drive ive tried to flash this to see if it was a firmware error on the drive but its not finding it in jungle flasher and i doubt it would have sorted the open drive error anyways

Take the drive out and look at the sticker on the top of the drive. The revsion of the drive is on the bottom left hand corner of the drive.

Basically, the CPU will read DVD key from dvd drive when booting up. If the Key is not paired to the CPU then CPU will not execute any game from that drive.
So if you want to fix any dvd drive, easiest way is to change the laser. Because the DVDKEY is stored in the controller board, not the laser head. However if you need to change the drive to different model, you need to use JF or other way to read the original DVDKEY and write it to new one, and with correct spoofing (i.e. make the CPU think your dvddrive is the original one)

Youtube is the best way to get the info your after if your unsure what to do... loads of vids on there...
99% sure you can flash \ Spoof Keys a BenQ without using any probe, but any liteons need additional hardware to do the job, within windows anyway, not sure if they can be done in dos without them...
Good luck
