is there a way to manually add a channel to my dm500c?
my wife is driving me mad saying that "last week i could get bbc3 and now i cant" in a very high pitched voice !
it is on on my db downstairs but not on my upstairs one
there both on single feeds as i used to have a settop box in my bedroom so no splitter req up there but thats the one where i cant get it bbc3
any ideas to save my ears or do i just kick her downstairs to watch eastnders?

Swap the boxes around. ;)

Services list will still be stored on the box.

Missing channels is usually a low signal issue. But if it's a single feed then it should be ok. If you swap the good box upstairs, flick to BBC3 and if it comes on then you should be able to get it on the other box as well. If you go to the channel but you get a error saying 'channel not available' then it's a signal issue. You know it's not the box because it works downstairs. If that's the case, check that the coax connector is on properly, reconnect it if needed.

Sometimes it can be the difference in quality in the build of the receiver.

Try the other box upstairs and see if it gets all the channels. Some tuners are stronger than others.

Of not, yeh a booster is your answer.
