Here is my bad draw but maybe help to someone.
These is simple hardware " homemade " to help check is hall sensor on electro servo motor from fiat punto " older type " good or bad. If it is bad it can be fix but you must dissemble PCB from motor and resolder all PCB again. Bad solder point's are the main reason for ERROR SERVO.

Here is my draw ( sorry it handmade in my service.. )

28858

There is two wrong "x" in sequence but you have in legend where is ( sorry again for bad draw ).

If any question I will replay with pleasure.

The best regard's to all here on DK and I hope to it is helpful to someone.
The circuit I was made for fast motor test ( motor never is bad only PCB or relay's ) I was service - repair about 50 pcs and none was comeback....

Is PCB with two relays or without ?
If is with relays you must cut off plastic cover from relays to see if contact is ok or not !

Also in a couple examples in my practice the problem also was another sensor "angle sensor" located on wheel shaft and it is very hard to replace it !
To locate problem you must get diagnostic interface ( FiatECUscan is OK) and if angle not change when you move wheel or change for example from 0 to + or - 500 degree then is problem that and motor is ok....

So if I understand you correctly - there are two possible problems on motor:

1) Bad (cold) solder points
2) Faulty relays

No other components can go faulty?

Thanks for replay!

Hello,
In this, we have 2 relays with ref : V23072-C1061-A308

All people in forum says that they are no efficiency for long time because no enouth power.

Have you got an another ref who can hold more than the first (20 A).
I think that the new must hold 40A.
Have you got this new ref ?
Regards.

Hi there,
there is 2 types of power steering for these cars.
1.One with a 6 wire motor and ecu with ref 6971 and
2. one with 5 wire motor and ecu 1075 (i think).

It's not possible to fit the first motor into the second ecu and vice-versa.
Only the torque sensor works the same for the two types.

Best regards
Rsilva

I did one last week, Punto2 ( 6971) DTC C1007
C1007 refers to problem motor.
Resolder relay's joints did solve the problem in my case.

Elchip: Thank u for all information.

Testing done with PCB still inside motor, and big (3 pin) connector disconnected.
Testing hall sensors also works with simple ledtester.
Vbat to 1,2 or 3
Rotate motor and the led go on/off

Testing relay:
4 to ground
And when you put 5 en 6 to V bat then you can hear the 2 relay click.
In my case one relay did not click.
3 big solder joint where good, but in my case the 2 small joints where bad

yes and in some special cases angle sensor in steering but it is only 2% cases I found

No you can't change models !!!
If you have relay's must change with same motor with relay's.

very good inspection , but in some cases if all points have good solder and relay nor ON-OFF maybe is problem inside relay. If relay was too hot the plastic close contact are melt - damage. Then you change relay or you can open and remove bad plastic from relay and see if contact go free to on-off position ...mechanic problems ...

If you guys need this relays fast take look under youre desk in workshop..same relays you can find in old caralarm/central locking moduls... I personaly never discard any of this modules in trash bin..there is always something usefull on them..old cobra..old meta..gemini..save it at least for repairing fiat servo drive or bmw e46 central locking...

and of course chinese moduls go strait in trash bin there is nothing good in them..even if they are brand new
