Hi got a vectra c 2.2 sri 2005 prefacelift z22yh engine. The cars dead no ignition lights , headlights are on by themselfs , nothing works apart from radio and electric windows.

So far replaced....
SDM - airbag ecu
Engine ecu
Underhood fusebox
Cim module
BCM wont accept the correct security code so need one of them unless theres a security wait time for the code being entered too many times?

Hardware wont connect to the SDM module or the Intrument cluster it will communicate with everything else. I've tried replacing the sdm and the instruments cluster ... still the same.

Anyone any ideas? i've checked every fuse and relay , also checked the wiring everything looks fine and clean and in good nick.

I was goin to get the car towed ?50 to Vauxhall for a new BCM ?160 and programming ?68+vat/hour but theres no point untill i find out whats stopping the intruments and sdm from not communicating , if i could do that i could program a used bcm myself and save myself even more cash i've had this car to 3 vauxhall specialists and everytime it came back with more problems and hence the list of swapped parts as they were just guessing so if anyone Thinks they can fix this car i will happily pay you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any help grately appreciated as this is costing me a fortune.

cheers

Ive been told the ABS plug give problems on these and can stop can communication, un-plug and check for corrosion m8.

Sounds for like a ground problem!!
have you tried to check the ressistance betwenn batterie ground, chassis ground and motor ground??
maybe its something similar like in older modells the batterie cables - they where oxidatet in the pressed connector - and cause many different problems

Cheers for the replys guys

I've already checked and cleaned the abs connector but tbh it was clean and no signs of corrosion.
I'll test the grounds tomorrow , theres no corrosion anywhere as i cleaned everything when i was on a previous fault finding mission....
there was no comms with the low speed canbus at ALL , bcm , rec , ddm ,pdm , uec, fitted a new cim and had low speed comms with the above but not the ipc and sdm. So was thinking the BCM is faulty but would a faulty BCM make no comms between the sdm and ipc. The wiring connecting the ipc and sdm has been checked for damage and all looks mint so just cant understand why they dont communicate.? :(

Edit:

just bought a BCM as someone meantioned to me that the new replacement CIM from vauxhall might have a fw and sw version too new for the versions of fw sw in the BCM so i checked with vauxhall and my BCM is 13199492 KD which they dont make anymore and its replaced with 13193590 NF ... so i've got the later version NF. Fingers crossed it sorts the no comms with sdm and ipc coz after fitting a bcm i'm lost apart from changing the whole wiring looms ... LOL

Thx again

i can tell you one possible other fault - but if this is your problem, you win in lottery before ;-) there's one Module in the car called DRM (Data Recording Module) - you can't read out with diagnostic tools, but it's linked with all the car systems via CAN Bus (It's a module where lots of Live Data is recorded, and can be read out by Producers only - example for unanswered questions in cause of accidents and so on - I had in my career one car with damaged DRM (I think 2 years ago, but was different car) having lots of problems with communication!
But one better tip would be if you check if the low speed bus cables have any connection to ground or 12Volt, or if they have a short or open circuit

Cheers

there is power getting to the low speed canbus and there was one open circuit which turned out to be the info display above the headunit wasnt correctly plugged in. apart from that every other wire and connector has been checked , checked , and triple checked. Not sure if the vectra C has a DRM? and if it does , does anyone know where its located??

thx all
