In my opinion, if you are new, looking for BIG helpline and LOTS of advice then the best deal is Dashfixer pro.
If you dont need so much help and advice on a big scale, Best tools are the Enigma or DP3.
The rest are playing catchup,
Be prepared to pay ?8000 for the top 3.

Problem with dp3 I hear with w221 is that once u take to service the mileage comes back so the obd does not work.

from what i hear, it does dash ezs, zgw
so how would it come back?
unless its auto, then i presume its in the box aswell?

Unless you do assyst or assyst plus with star it will always show.
As well as editing the service manually either in the eeprom or the zgw depending on model.
BUT, as z 786 says, if its in the ags module on an auto, its gonna still be there, not to mention the battery backup module where fitted.
Mercedes UK have caught at least a dozen this month !
ALL down to service showing old miles.

Exactly that's what I been hearing and u will get caught if u take it to service!

hi z786 can you pm me that link where its for sale i do mileage on vag cars i got vag prog what is a good tool in its own way but need one for the rest of the cars i do have dashfixer 1 digi but that only the old cars up 2002 and to update it to 2006 dashfixer is saying ?1600 or ?5500 FOR A DASHFIXER pro so i dont know what to do
z786
29th August, 2010, 02:20 AM
the link i posted was of YOUR digi box on ebay lol ?900, are you serious?
best thing to do is buy a new cpu board for your digi box, it will cost you about 80 quid and will be fully updated to 2006/7
then just buy a r260 clone, job done
what more can you ask for?

Dashfixer are giving a 2k trade in for the old digi. Although the price you have from them looks like you may have the discount. But if its not give them a call.

what do the updates cost per year?
Some updates are free and some u pay for. It depends which update u want. For example
Mondeo 2010 - FREE
Nissan Navara 2010 - FREE
Porsche via OBD is 499 euros.
Golf 6 mm7 is only 50 euros.
M35080 eraser 200 euros.
BMW CAS 4 only 200 euro.
Good thing about it u can get the update u want and need and if u don't want to update thats ok because you will still get the free updates without a problem.

hi
I think everybody who start new and want to go long first buy upa and work hard like Drpeter, HCIP and other DKvertern's do.
becasue if we buy tools which do everthing itself its not your magic its just tool's magic which are doing every job over obd2.
but before investing big money need to know where u lives and buy tools according to local market not what other world is doing. If in US buy Jprog,In asia buy china goods like smelecom,if in Europe than u have multiple choice as u know enigma,dp3,digiprog,dashfixer etc. which one u like and which is affordable to u.
it is just my opnion if some one dont like dont mind.
thankx

I work with EnigmaToolUSA.com and this guy is always good. He is trustworthy and honest. I have talked to Mfg and this guy is real and Is original product. I bought mine from him while back ago and until today no complains. I also recently just updated my Enigma with him with this new update of BMW and its nice update. It actually works...

I actually don't think your right, because UPA is amazing tool, but what magic are we talking about, reading with UPA, using tachosoft to calculate algo, change algo and program back. Where is your magic here.
I think the magic you are talking about is actually understanding and decoding algo yourself and learning the original stuff and how everything works, but if you are just starting, i don't think anyone wants to spend mony & time and research, research, mess up few dash boards, spend more money, etc...
What everyone wants now a days is to make easy money, and that's what this expensive tools do.
This is just my thoughts on this.

Im from USA and Enigma is pretty good.
As far as the dealer u can ask Mfg but most people that sell in USA are good because of laws here. But for EnigmaToolUSA I can say 100% his good. U won't have problems.

Rosfar is for secured and Enigma does Secured as well....
As far as Rosfar, here is what Rosfar can do...
http://www.vag-info.com/R260S_Manual_v1.5.pdf
but Rosfar company doesn't exist anymore and its not updated.
As far as Enigma check this out
http://enigmatoolusa.com/manual/enigmatoolusa_list.pdf
Compare it and you will understand.

Couldn't of asked for a better explanation, I'm getting fed up with just having dp3, looking to invest on another device, so doing abit of re-search dp3 is brilliant, but so many down sides, the pdf's aint clear, alot of pdf's missing (recently got sent all of enigma's pdf, ohh my good so clear compared to dp3's they actually help you).
Dp3, had 2 TT's as we all know didnt work (2009), turned up to a Jag s-type, the pdf and the board was slighty different didnt work, support well i was told to send a pic.. - Merc w204 turned up to a '60' plate software version unknown.. i mean this is all within 2 weeks period, getting annoyed now.
It's time to buy a 'back up tool'.

Well... Wtih Enigma, i had experience with nissan and sometimes gives problem, but its ok. Rest of the cars don't have too much trouble.
As far as PDF's, Enigma's PDF are pretty good.
I don't know. As my grandfather used to say, "grass is always greener on the other side". I'm sure dash coder has its problems, and bugs. If its a software, it MUST have bugs... Nothing is perfect in life...

I would say the best place to learn is your dealer. Make sure your dealer is willing to teach you the business because you are going to need it.

Only way to learn is by having day in day out life experiences, you can't have enough gear hence I don't have issues doing anything one of my 3 systems would cover it, depends on how busy and serious you are I couldn't do my job with a diga!
