Hello I currently have a 2000 audi s4 me7.1 with A-box Ecu Part number 8D0907551A I also have a 8D0907551M Ecu with has a aftermarket flash. Can anyone tell me if I can read the mbox flash and reflahs it to my abox ecu without issues???Or are the maps in different locations in each ecu????Ideally I am looking for a damos files for a Mbox ecu and a Abox ecu to compare.Any help would be appreciated.I am willing to share the Flash files I have if anyone is willing to help me out. Also im sure the check sum will need to be corrected as well.Whats the best tool that corrects checksums???

Maybe VAG Numbers are similar, but maps are very different.

Open that file with some hex editor (I use HxD), search for string "NOREAD" and replace that bytes with FF's or 00's.

As long as it says FF or 00 then yes! Or in WinHex use the replace function after highlighting.

OK thanks. Is there anyway to figure out what maps are what???

This is what I have so far.

I USED WINOLS TO CHECK AND LOCATE THESE POTENTIAL MAPS.nOTE THAT THE MBOX HAD 42 POTENTIAL MAPS TOTAL AND THE ABOX
ONLY HAD 40 POTENTIALMAPS.PERHAPS BECAUSE THE ABOX CAR HAD NO ESP???ALSO JUST TO CLARIFY THERE IS NO TYPo IN THE
MBOX COLUMN WINOLS RECOGNIZED (2) 1A474 MAPS.ONE CONNECTED TO ANOTHER .

There are alot more maps that that in there. And they will most likely NOT match up!

Yea having WinOLS search maps out is practically useless IMO. Your best bet is to get a stock Mbox .bin, make sure its same version 001, or 002 in US i believe. Load up the stock one, then import the "modified" one as a new version. You can then search through code, it will highlight changes from the stock .bin. start finding maps :) Good Luck
