hi i have a dm800 and the small fan that was supplied with it is noisy.i have a netbok cooler (5volt usb) and it works great ,the only thing is i want to connect fan to scart so it switches fan off in standby.i have tried connecting fan to scart pin 8 + and pin 4- it does power the fan but spins slowly and led on fan is very dim .if connected to usb it is bright and fast ,any ideas where i am going wrong

sure you got it to correct pin mate , pin 8 should pull 12v , therefore should run faster ?

Won't the processor overheat if the fan shuts down when the box goes into sleepmode?

you need to set aspect ratio to 4:3
according to post 6 here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f39/dm800-external-fan-186851/

if it works don't forget to thank bugsy while your there
