when using the internet site Maps of the world, street map search - powered by Multimap (http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=bt7+3df&countryCode=GB)

is it the first numbers or ones in the brackets i use?

Lat:54:34:34N (54.57612) Lon:5:55:43W (-5.92863)

Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com (http://www.dishpointer.com/) this works the same

Latitude: 52.5297?
Longitude: -1.8551?

is most common

ok cheers guys in the dm 500 i cant get it to add the - minus would i just add it as 54.5 N 5.9 W

the minus equates to a direction on compass , west in your case

enter long west 5.922
lat north 54.575
