Hi, I have ibm T30 with DIS v57. Everything works, only program/coding button I can't use. What you need to install to make it work? Thanks

GT1/DIS ver 44 was the last version that contained some coding/programing capablites (Ver 39 was the last ver w/ full coding/programming). SSS (Software Service Station) is the software you need to perform coding/programming. Ver 32 was the last offical version released (no longer supported). With the ver of DIS that you have, you can only "switch" between the two sftwe's>>> if properly set-up as a network. In short: DIS is for diagnosis and SSS is for codin/programming. There are some systems set-up as a "dual boot" that contain DIS Ver 57 (linux based) and SSS Ver 32 (XP Embeded based)..... check to see if may-be your setup has been configured as such.... at boot-up hit any key for a few strokes till a dos like command prompt appears, if you have hit a letter key (ie: m, you'l see a few like mmmmm, just use your backspace to delete them, till you see just the blinking cursor) then type "bootos_3" ("_" = blank space) that will start SSS. Theres also a proper way to close DIS or SSS, and the power button is not it.... let me know if you need any further info about this.

The new Platform: ISIS.... ISTA/D and ISTA/P

if you need any more tips.... just post here, I'm sure someone will give you direction

Thank you for explanation. SSS 32 I have. I thought it was me there's something missing, when the button does not work. I have only GT1 yellow head. For coding E60, E90 .., what do I need head. Can I use D-can?

Bmw OPS or OPPS ?

If you want to work with SSS the use OPS or OPPS. For NCS you can use normal standard INPA/DIS cable for pre2007 and DCAN cable for new cars.
OPS and OPPS are standard heads for SSS. OPPS is required for some safety modules in e60/e65.

It comes from a mixture of BMW documents, personel experience and DK members experience. A lot of new DK members ask about which BMW software works with which BMW interfaces, so i thought i'd do a simple chart, to help them.

I think there are "clones" out there already, but these systems are too sensitive, I wouldn't trust them with anything but the original.

There is a BMW part number for the ICOM, but you can't go to your local dealer and order one, because the dealer must open up a PUMA case, in order to track the ICOM's serial number (dealers are NOT allowed to sell them to the aftermarket).

The only "official" place to buy one from, is API. the website is https://infobase.apinet.com/API-Support/Store
