Flashing a new firmware (image) by Browser
What you need to flash
You need the image file you want to flash. Image files have the extension *.nfi. You can't flash other
images like *.img files. Don't try it - it won't work.
You need either a DHCP server, a configured bootloader or a serial cable and a terminal program
like HyperTerm.
You need a browser, and a network cable. If you connect the Dreambox directly to the PC,
you need a cross cable, if you connect trough a switch/hub/router you need a normal
(non-cross) cable.
To flash a new image, you can use the second stage loader. It must be present and not broken.
The following steps assume you have a DHCP server. If you don't have one, you have to setup
an IP address in the bootloader's serial setup.
- Power down the Dreambox, either using "shutdown" and by removing the power connector.
Standby is not enough!
- (1.) Press and hold the power button. Replug the power connector into the Dreambox.
- (3.) A text "*** STOP ***" should appear. Now you can release the button.
The bootloader entered the "waiting" mode.
- (4.) Above the "*** STOP ***" text, there should appear an IP-address
(four decimal values with a dot in between). If there appears the string "dhcp" instead,
the box still searches for a DHCP server. Wait a bit. If it doesn't change, something doesn't
work with the DHCP server. Check wether network cable is plugged in etc. If it just doesn't
work, set an IP using the serial terminal)
- Now, open a browser on your PC.
(1.) enter in the address line "http://ip/" (where ip must be replaced with the value in the LCD).
- (2.) on the bottom of the page, there's a link called "firmware upgrade". Click it.
On the next page, you can select the flash image you want to flash. be sure that it has the ".nfi" extension.
You can't flash other images (like .img)!
- Click on "FLASH!" and wait. It might take some time to upload and flash the image.
- Switch the box off again, and on again. The new image should be flashed and working.

sounds not good !
Try to flash again using dreamup.
And check the new image to be sure it's a DM800 flash

This summary "tutorial" to explain how to fix a DM800 not booting with the code "ERROR01 : NO CA FOUND" on the screen.
Cause of the error:
- bad flash
- official image flashed
-> ERR01 : NO CA FOUND
What doesn't work anymore:
- no boot
- no network connection
- no possible image upgrade
- DreamUp unable to upgrade even with serial cable
Solution:
1) Use DreamUp 1.3.3 with serial (null modem) cable
2) Choose COM1, connect, power ON DM800 and wait
3) After a few seconds the DM800 screen will come back with an IP address
4) Type in that address in IE
5) Flash first a BootLoader (ex: 72R1)6) reboot DM800 and hold power button
7) Wait for IP to appear on DM800 screen
8)Type in that address in IE
9) Flash your desired image

hello everyone
I have now spent all day reading posts about fixing this error - and i am still non the wiser.
Firstly is there anyone on here that has actually had this error and solved it for them selves.
secondly it states to use dreamup 1.3.3 but there are mony versions of this i.e 1.3.3.2 & 1.3.3.4 etc which do i use.
also when i try to reload an image .nfi or a bootloader dreamup simply states calculating checksum and freezes.
SOUTHPAW when screen shows ip address it also states serial mode underneath and will not allow me to connect via IE ANY SUGGESTIONS PLS
Can anyone offer any further assistance on this i would really appreciate it.

ok for info i have finally got the bloody thing to work
So just to clarify i was receiving a message "no ca found" and when i searched this error it would appear the answer was to use dreamup and add a new image.
The problem i had was everytime i used dreamup it would freeze with "calculating checksum" and go no further.
The only way i got around this was to use a dm800 bootloader 69 (secondstage-dm800-69) for some reason this is the only bootloader version (.nfi file)that would get passed the calculating checksum error.
Once you use bootloader 69 you can then reboot box and hold power button down in order to reflash a different image through a web browser.
i used NabiloBlackHole-12-BL72-dreamboxclones.co.cc and box now works.
I have tried to explain this as best i can because i don't actually understand any of it!

Are you using a Null modem cable?
The easiest way to flash is throu the web.
Unplug powercable from box, press and hold on/off button and insert powercable.
The display shows STOP and a ipnumber.
Type that number in a browser on your computer and click firmware upgrade.

How to flash through the web was described better earlier in the thread but if you don't get Dream Up to recognise the box my guess is that you are using wrong cable or wrong comport.
